A handcrafted South of Ireland knitting tour featuring the Aran Islands, expert-led workshops, iconic scenery, and immersive Irish textile traditions.

Tour Overview

The South of Ireland with Aran Islands Knitting Tour is a dream journey for passionate knitters, blending iconic Irish sights with inspiring hands-on textile experiences. Beginning in Dublin, you’ll explore historic St Patrick’s Cathedral before diving into creative workshops with leading designers, including a crochet demo and trunk show with Aoibhe Ní and a Stranded and Steeked knitting class with Pauline Gallagher. Traveling west to Galway, the tour showcases the wild beauty of Connemara with visits to Kylemore Abbey and Glen Keen Sheep Farm, where sheep herding, spinning, and wool traditions come to life—alongside time to soak up the vibrant culture, laneways, and boutiques of the City of Tribes.

Life on the Aran Islands takes center stage on Inis Oírr, with traditional knitting classes, spinning and dyeing workshops, baking, butter churning, and the making of Saint Brigid’s Cross. Back on the mainland, the journey continues south to Killarney via the picture-perfect village of Adare, with unforgettable creative stops including private shopping and cable knitting workshops at Stolen Stitches in Cork, and colour-and-texture knitting with Liz Spillane on the Ring of Kerry. The tour concludes with a visit to Kerry Woollen Mills, the majestic Rock of Cashel, and a celebratory farewell dinner in Dublin—leaving you inspired by Ireland’s landscapes, heritage, and living knitting traditions.
